Using your brand colour palette

A brand colour palette plays a key role in a company's visual identity and overall brand strategy. It is a powerful tool in creating a cohesive and recognisable brand identity, evoking the desired emotions, standing out in the market, and effectively communicating with the target audience. It is an essential element in the overall brand strategy, contributing significantly to the brand's success and longevity.

Throughout out your chosen brand colours you should separate them into 3 categories. Below we have a quick guide for what the categories are and recommended use of the colours within these categories.

PRIMARY BRAND COLOURS

These are your primary brand colours and should be used throughout 60% of your visual identity. These brand colours are what your client will instantly relate to your brand. We recommend a dark colour, light colour and main brand colour, often 3-4 main brand colours.

SECONDARY BRAND COLOURS

These are your secondary brand colours and should be used throughout 30% of your visual identity. The secondary colours complement your primary colours and are a great way to differentiate between various sections of a layout. We recommend 2-3 accent colours for your brand palette.

ACCENT BRAND COLOURS

Your accent brand colours should be used throughout 10% of your visual identity. The accent colours are a great option for important information or call-to-action buttons. We recommend 1-2 accent colours for your brand palette.
